Photography connected with purpose — using art to support children and the wider community.
Luiza Michalewicz has long believed that art can enrich culture, support community, and create meaningful change beyond the gallery wall. Her charity involvement includes supporting Kickstart for Kids, a South Australian charity providing breakfast, lunch, and mentoring programs to disadvantaged children.
The cause resonated deeply with Luiza after hearing stories of children arriving at school without breakfast. The simple act of nourishment can transform attention, behaviour, confidence, and wellbeing — and for Luiza, supporting young people in this way felt immediate and human.
Proceeds from her Cosmic Fingerprints exhibition were directed toward Kickstart for Kids. The collection explored the idea that every person carries a unique life story — a cosmic fingerprint made from memories, hopes, sadness, happiness, failures, accomplishments, and all the colours of experience.
Through this work, Luiza wanted people to stop, reflect, and feel. The charity connection extended that same intention outward: photography becoming not only an invitation to look more deeply, but a way to contribute to lives beyond the image.
